Tax Staff Accountant (Experienced)

 

The Tax Staff Accountant is an integral part of the team and performs the following job duties:

  • Prepares complex individual, corporate, partnership and S-corp tax returns
  • Recognizes tax problems, researches tax questions and prepares written memoranda based on findings
  • Prepares schedules, summaries and drafts reports as required
  • Develops skills in preparing tax projections
  • Interacts with clients via telephone and email to request or clarify information and to answer questions
  • May assist at conferences with clients, IRS representatives and others
  • Assists with special assignments as assigned
Requirements
  • 1+ years of tax experience in public accounting with at least 1 busy season at a staff level preparing  complex returns
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting; Masters in Accounting/Tax preferred
  • Working knowledge and application of current tax codes and regulations
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills as well as analytical & problem-solving ability
  • Experience in a paperless environment; experience with ProSystems preferable
  • International experience a plus
  • Desire for career growth through challenging work assignments and continuous learning opportunities
  • Desire be a CPA
