Senior Tax Accountant

The Senior Tax Accountant is an integral part of the team and performs the following job duties:

Obtains information for preparing tax returns, protests, briefs, technical memoranda, reports, etc. and prepares same.

Recognizes non-routine tax problems and, after research, proposes solutions.

Communicates with clients, IRS representatives and other.

Reviews individual and entity tax returns (including complex returns) prepared by other staff.

Supervises preparation process and assists staff to resolve tax issues.

Partipates in the training and supervision of staff. Provides timely direction & feedback.

Participates in the performance evaluation process for staff.

Primary role is in reviewing tax returns prepared by others & researching tax issues; minimal time spent preparing returns.

Requirements:

3+ years of tax experience in public accounting with at least 1 year experience as senior staff preparing and/or reviewing complex returns

Bachelors degree in Accounting; Masters in Accounting/Tax preferred

Must be a CPA

Working knowledge and application of current tax codes and regulations

Excellent verbal & written communication skills as well as analytical & problem-solving ability

Experience in a paperless environment; experience with ProSystems preferable

International experience a plus
